GERF® Cryogenic Protection Gaiters | Lower Leg & Foot Shield

Engineered for industrial and laboratory professionals handling cryogenic liquids, the GERF® Cryogenic Gaiters provide certified lower-leg and foot protection against thermal exposure and cryogenic liquid splashes at temperatures down to -196°C (-320°F) — suitable for LN₂, LOX, LAr, and LNG handling environments.

Construction & Materials

• Multi-layer insulation system combining thermal protection, flexibility, and dexterity — critical for high-risk cryogenic operations
• 100% waterproof, seamless inner lining engineered to prevent cryogenic fluid permeation from splashes and incidental contact
• High-performance moisture-wicking thermal inner lining for sustained comfort during extended-duration tasks
• High-tenacity reinforced stitching for structural integrity under mechanical and thermal stress
• Adjustable Velcro closure for anthropometric fit adaptability across operators

Protection Scope

• Thermal and splash protection rated to -196°C (-320°F)
• Primary coverage: lower leg and feet
• Completes the GERF® full-body cryogenic PPE system when combined with gloves, apron, and vest
• Compliant with EN 511 cold protection and EN 388 mechanical risk standards

Limitations / Out of Scope

• Not suitable for immersion or prolonged submersion in cryogenic liquids
• Not designed for pressurized cryogenic gas or vapor exposure
• Not a substitute for a full cryogenic suit in high-volume spill or bulk transfer environments
