What temperatures do GERF® cryogenic gloves protect against?
They are designed and certified for protection against splashes and brief contact with cryogenic liquids such as liquid nitrogen (−196 °C / −321 °F), LNG, liquid oxygen, liquid argon and CO₂.
Can I immerse my hands in liquid nitrogen with cryogenic gloves?
No. Cryogenic gloves protect against splashes and short contact with cold surfaces. They are not designed for immersion in liquid nitrogen or any cryogenic liquid.
What does EN 511 3-3-1 mean on a cryogenic glove?
Each digit is a separate test: convective cold (0–4), contact cold (0–4) and water penetration (0–1). EN 511 3-3-1 means high insulation, contact cold level 3 and a certified waterproof glove.
Which glove length should I choose?
Choose by how far up the arm the splash risk reaches: wrist (33 cm) for handling vials, mid-arm or before-elbow (38–48 cm) for Dewars and racks, and elbow or shoulder (58–68 cm) for reaching into tanks and pouring.
