🔬 Technical Overview

The GERF® Cryogenic Suit Kit is a complete 3-piece personal protective ensemble engineered for sustained operation in ultra-low temperature environments. Constructed from the same multi-layer anti-cryogenic composite technology as the GERF® Double-Sided Waterproof Cryogenic Apron — a product independently certified by AITEX (Notified Body No. 0161) with EN 511 Contact Cold Level 4 (Maximum) — this suit delivers certified protection against cryogenic liquid splashes at temperatures down to -196°C (-321°F), including liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, and LNG, without compromising mobility or comfort during extended shifts.

In cryogenic discharge operations — tanker unloading, Dewar filling, LNG refueling — worker visibility and identification are critical safety factors. The GERF® suit incorporates high-visibility reflective strips on the shoulders and ankles that serve multiple operational functions:

The GERF® Suit Kit is engineered as a layered protection system — each piece reinforces the next to deliver superior coverage across the body’s most critical zones:

  • 🧠 Head — Double Protection: The jacket’s integrated hood combined with the GERF® Cryogenic Face Shield creates two independent layers of head protection, shielding against both splash and cold air exposure from multiple angles.
  • 🫁 Chest & Vital Organs — Triple Protection: The cryogenic trousers extend upward to cover the lower chest area. The jacket adds a second layer over the torso. When the GERF® Cryogenic Face Shield is worn, it provides a third layer of frontal coverage — resulting in 3 combined layers of protection for the chest and principal organs, the body’s most critical zone.
  • 👁️ Eyes — Dual Protection: The included cryogenic safety goggles provide direct eye protection. When used in combination with the polycarbonate visor of the GERF® Cryogenic Face Shield, they create a double barrier for the eyes — goggles as the primary seal, face shield as the outer deflection layer.
