- Waterproof outer layer — engineered to resist cryogenic liquid splash penetration
- Covered-flap zipper closure — the zipper is fully shielded by a protective flap, eliminating any gap where cryogenic liquid could contact the closure or penetrate the suit
- Adjustable velcro wrist cuffs — seal the coverall sleeves tightly around the wrist, closing any possibility of cryogenic liquid entry at the wrist interface

In cryogenic discharge operations — tanker unloading, Dewar filling, LNG refueling — worker visibility and identification are critical safety factors. The GERF® suit incorporates high-visibility reflective strips on the shoulders and ankles that serve multiple operational functions:

The GERF® Full Kit is engineered as a layered protection system — each component reinforces the next to deliver superior coverage across the body’s most critical zones:
- 🧠 Head — Double Protection: The cryogenic scuba hood provides full head, face, and neck coverage in a single closed-helmet design. When the safety goggles are worn inside, they add a second independent layer — creating two layers of head and face protection against splashes and cold air.
- 🫁 Chest & Vital Organs — Triple Protection: The coverall extends upward to protect the lower chest. The scuba hood drapes over the upper chest and shoulders as a second layer. The polycarbonate visor of the hood adds a third frontal barrier — resulting in 3 combined layers of protection for the chest and principal organs, the body’s most critical zone.
- 👁️ Eyes — Dual Protection: The included cryogenic safety goggles provide a direct seal around the eyes. When worn inside the scuba hood, the polycarbonate visor acts as an outer deflection layer — creating a double barrier for the eyes against splashes and impact.
- 🧕 Wrists — Sealed Entry Points: Adjustable velcro cuffs close the sleeve-to-glove interface, blocking any residual path for liquid ingress at the wrist.
