The GERF® Waterproof Cryogenic Suit Safety Kit combines a coverall, scuba hood, gloves and boots with safety goggles and a carry bag. Each component covers a different body area during cryogenic handling, subject to its own instructions, documented performance and a task-specific risk assessment.

The coverall uses the same multi-layer construction technology as the GERF® double-sided waterproof cryogenic apron. The apron’s AITEX certificate and test results are reference-system information, not independent certification of the complete kit, coverall, hood or boots.

• GERF® Waterproof Cryogenic Coverall: body coverage with a protective flap over the zipper and adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs.
• GERF® Cryogenic Scuba Hood: head, face and neck coverage with a polycarbonate visor and shoulder/chest drape.
• GERF® Cryogenic Boots: foot and ankle coverage for cryogenic liquid splash-handling tasks.
• GERF® Double Waterproof Cryogenic Gloves: Standard Line, MA 38 cm, for hands and forearms.
• Cryogenic Safety Goggles: intended for combined use inside the hood, subject to fit and component instructions.
• Carry & Storage Bag: for keeping the kit components together during storage and transport.

⚙️ Materials & Construction

• Multi-layer composite construction: thermal insulation with a waterproof outer barrier for splash-handling tasks.
• Covered zipper: the protective flap covers the closure; it does not establish a liquid-tight or gas-tight seal.
• Adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs: support fit and overlap with the gloves. Correct adjustment does not guarantee complete prevention of liquid entry.
• Reflective strips on shoulders and ankles: support worker identification and visual control when illuminated. They do not guarantee visibility through dense vapor clouds.
• Breathable inner lining: supports moisture management.
• Lightweight, flexible construction: designed to support movement during handling tasks.
• Removable liner: follow the supplied instructions for care and reassembly.

• Included gloves: Standard Line, MA 38 cm.
• Application temperatures stated in the existing product information: −170°C to −196°C (−274°F to −320°F), in the context of cryogenic splash-handling tasks.
• Temperature interpretation: these liquid temperatures do not establish a safe direct-contact temperature, exposure duration or immersion rating for the wearer.
• Component sizing: confirm hood fit, glove size and boot size when specifying the kit.

🛡️ Coverage by Component

Combined coverage is not a certified “double” or “triple” protection multiplier. Overlapping components do not establish tested protection for internal organs or eliminate every path of liquid entry.

🧤 Included Gloves — Standard Line MA 38 cm

The existing kit information lists the following glove performance declarations. These apply to the included glove model, not the whole kit:

• EN 511 — 3 / 2 / 1: convective cold / contact cold / water penetration.
• EN 388 — 2 / 2 / 2 / 2 / X: abrasion / blade cut (Coup) / tear / puncture / TDM cut resistance. X indicates no stated TDM result, not an impact rating.
• EN ISO 21420:2020: general requirements for protective gloves, as listed in the kit information.

✅ Shared Construction — Certified Apron Reference

The reference apron 90-CRYO-DL is identified in the product information as certified by AITEX, Notified Body 0161, Certificate No. 26/10243/00/0161/B, under Regulation (EU) 2016/425, PPE Category II.

• EN ISO 13688:2013+A1:2021: general requirements for protective clothing.
• EN 388:2016+A1:2018: mechanical-risk reference results for the apron.
• EN 511:2006 / ISO 5085-1:1989: contact cold Level 4, maximum, for the reference apron.
• ISO 4675:2017: low-temperature bend test at −50°C, PASS, for the reference system as reported in the apron information.

Scope: these are apron/reference-system results. Sharing construction technology does not transfer the certificate, PPE category or Level 4 rating to the kit or any other component. Request documentation identifying each component and its certification scope.

🏭 Applications

Potential use contexts include cryogenic liquid transfer, Dewar filling and maintenance, tanker loading/unloading, industrial gas plants, LNG stations, petrochemical facilities, Oil & Gas, mining, dry-ice handling and cold storage. Suitability must be established for the actual task and each component.

For work with LN₂, LOX, LAr, LNG or other cryogenic media, confirm material compatibility and the exposure limits in the supplied documentation. The kit is not automatically approved for every cryogenic fluid, emergency-response scenario or high-volume spill.

⚠️ Limitations & Care

• Not intended for immersion or prolonged submersion in liquid nitrogen or other cryogenic liquids.
• Not presented as a gas-tight or liquid-tight suit.
• The hood is not respiratory protection and does not protect against oxygen deficiency.
• No safe direct-contact temperature or exposure duration is established by the listed liquid temperatures.
• Keep components clear of moving machinery and entanglement hazards.
• Inspect and fit each component according to its own instructions before use.
• The existing suit information states that washing the outer shell is not permitted. Follow the supplied component-specific care instructions; a removable liner does not imply that the entire suit is washable.
