GERF® Waterproof Cryogenic Coverall

Standalone body coverage for cryogenic liquid splash-handling tasks

The GERF® Waterproof Cryogenic Coverall is the body garment supplied in the GERF® full cryogenic suit safety kit, offered here separately. Its multi-layer construction covers the torso, arms and legs, with a protective flap over the front zipper and adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs.

Included: one coverall only. Scuba hood, face shield, gloves, boots, safety glasses and carry bag are not included.

Materials & Construction

  • Multi-layer composite construction combining thermal insulation with a waterproof outer barrier for splash-handling tasks.
  • Covered front zipper: a protective flap covers the closure; it does not establish a liquid-tight or gas-tight seal.
  • Adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs support fit and overlap with separately selected gloves.
  • Blue garment with reflective details on the shoulders, forearms and lower legs, as shown in the product images. Reflective details support identification when illuminated; they do not guarantee visibility through dense vapor.
  • Breathable inner lining and flexible construction support movement and moisture management.
  • Removable liner: follow the supplied instructions for care and reassembly.

Technical Overview

  • Garment: standalone cryogenic coverall.
  • Sizes: S, M, L, XL and XXL.
  • Coverage: torso, arms and legs; separate head, eye, hand and foot protection is required according to the task assessment.
  • The source kit information references cryogenic liquid temperatures of −170°C to −196°C. These are application-context temperatures, not a safe direct-contact temperature, exposure duration or immersion rating for the wearer.

Shared Construction — Certified Apron Reference

The coverall uses the same multi-layer construction technology as the GERF® double-sided waterproof cryogenic apron, reference 90-CRYO-DL. The apron is identified in the source product information with AITEX Certificate No. 26/10243/00/0161/B, Notified Body 0161.

The apron/reference-system information lists EN ISO 13688:2013+A1:2021, EN 388:2016+A1:2018, contact cold Level 4 under EN 511:2006 / ISO 5085-1:1989, and a reported PASS in the ISO 4675:2017 low-temperature bend test at −50°C.

Certification scope: these are reference-apron/system results, not independent certification of this coverall. Sharing construction technology does not transfer the apron certificate, PPE category or performance levels to this garment. Request coverall-specific documentation for your application.

Why GERF®?

  • Standalone garment for teams replacing or specifying individual PPE components.
  • Covered closure and adjustable cuffs support coordinated fit with complementary equipment.
  • Multi-layer construction with clearly distinguished reference-system performance.

Applications

Potential use contexts include cryogenic liquid transfer, Dewar filling, industrial gas handling, tanker loading/unloading and LNG-related handling tasks. Suitability must be established through a task-specific risk assessment and the supplied garment documentation. Confirm material compatibility before use with any cryogenic medium.

Limitations & Care

  • Not intended for immersion or prolonged submersion in liquid nitrogen or other cryogenic liquids.
  • Not presented as a gas-tight or liquid-tight suit; cuffs and closures do not guarantee prevention of liquid entry.
  • Does not provide respiratory protection or protection against oxygen deficiency.
  • No safe direct-contact temperature or exposure duration is established by the listed liquid temperatures.
  • Inspect the garment and check fit and component overlap before every use.
  • Keep clear of moving machinery and entanglement hazards.
  • The source suit information states that washing the outer shell is not permitted. Follow the supplied care instructions; a removable liner does not mean the entire garment is washable.
